16x7 G60 steels????

Hi,
Ordered some 15x6 g60 steels from vwheritage and sent them straight off to the powder coaters to get them in black. I got them back and measured them, and from lip to lip they measure 7" and 16" either they have grown at the powder coaters or am I not supposed to include the lip as part of the measurment. I imagine this is me being stupid but I'm stumped. Need to know so I can get some tyres for them. Either way I think they'll fit and if they are 16" I'll just get better mpgs. The more i think the more i'm sure I must have measured them and i wasnt supposed to include the lip. Any light shedding or rudeness about me being a moron much appreciated, thanks

15's. Dont measure at the lip.

Vauxhall steels come in 16's and are 4x100

I've just been out and measured the 17" wheels on my Passat. They are 18 1/4" overall diameter. I then nipped into the shed and measured a 17" winter tyre, and that is as good as bang on 17" diameter inside the bead.

As Ken said tho' the size will be stamped on them.

Ok thanks guys, I've had them powdercoated gloss black and gonna run a red pinstripe around the edge so they match the bumpers. Would they fit with 180 60 15 tyres then? any recommendations and will this tyre size still fit if I lower it 40mm?

Is that the stock size for G60 steels? Alloys on UK cars came with 185-55-15.

GTI's were 195-55-15's AFAIK - but getting 55 profiles is very hard and they tend to be expensive...

I wouldn't be fitting 180-60's for sure...

As well as retaining anal information like that, I've got a folder full of every single receipt for my car. Every single tyre it's had has been that size.
