I would have added some high build primer but not bad at all.

Yeah, high build primer reduces the need to sand as many of your edges down. Kind of like a spray primer/filler.

I'm half way through refurbing a set of montreal 2's - they were in a hideous condition and now are looking exceedingly nice!

The key thing for refurbs if you're doing them by hand is - estimate roughly how much time you want to take - then multiply it by 4. I have literally given 1 week per wheel as a time marker for cleaning up, getting the rot out of the wheels, sanding down, sanding AGAIN, sanding... AGAIN!, etch primer, sanding, etch primer again, then standard primer, sanding again, then more standard primer, sanding again, then 3 coats of paint (with wet and dry between each coat), then 3 coats of lacquer with wet and dry between each coat and then polish/sealing wax.

Ahhh, well seems a couple of things i could have done better.

As said previously, the wheels would have benefited from at least another hours prepping time each.

Secondly the Lacquer.... i didnt wet and dry between coats (or before i put it on) and now that the local sponge monkey has washed my car its taken patches of the lacquer off the wheels... not an issue spraying some more on, but one to watch for!
