Thats sounds good!! I called my local stealer (VW Southend) this morning and they wanted about £160 just for the full kit incl waterpump!! And the guy told me that cambelts are only good for 40k miles, fair enough but why tell people 80k when the cars are new? After 100 years of building cars VW have only just realised cambelts last half the time originally quoted? I dont think so, anyway found someone (contact of my grandads in the trade) to supply and fit a new cambelt for £160........all I have to do now is wait for the car to be driven back from Netherlands this weekend...gives me plenty of time to dig out all my polishing gear and as much as I love the beemers I am looking forward to getting back to Veedubbin
