I do like a good swim!
« on: 06 May 2012, 17:40 »
My car is full of water, thought i'd fixed it with a new door seal, i've noticed it only fills up with water when the front is facing down hill, anyone got any ideas of where i can start looking? its only the passenger footwells and the heater matrix is good.

many thanks

ian

Other option is the Scuttle - Loose Cover where the blower motor is, or leaf cover seal gone..

I felt the bottom of blower motor whist it was peeing it down so i know it wasn't that, felt the bottom of the door cards and they were sodden - left to dry out and then fix the membrane... (AGAIN!!)

Tell tale signs

rear door before

after

took the oportunity to grease up the window runners and clean out the holes for the water to drain out

Front door was the worst, only a couple of cm's at the top were still bonded

Good Job....

Whats special about the tape you used?

I've tried Gaffa Tape - but it doesn't seem to last... So looking for something that will...

Get some Second Skin sound deadning and cover both inner and out skins. Water tight and less road noise.

You might want to rip that carpet up and dry the soggy under lay or you will have a hole in the floor by next year
