ok im gona say you need a new coil as from what i can gather from what you have said.

and you say it tries to rev up by its self ?  first off we are going to need your engine code as there is big difference between the A series short block engine and a the tall  block cross flow also if  its the short block is it single or multi point as they all have different engine management systems

hi mate. Just abit of advise, you need to be clear about what your writing. As to you it might make sense but to others it wont. other wise you will get hammed for you writing! Lol seems like its the throttle body (if it has one) just needs cleaning out as it might be gunked up with sooth and other oil deposits. I normaly use carb cleaner. Give that a shot bud
