Can anyone te if these are standard sized brakes?

I know this might not be possible from this pic but the front calipers on my new GTi are almost touching the inside of the standard wheels. Just wondered if this is normal or do they look like they've been upgraded

Normal. Its surprising how tighter fit the standard brakes are to 15s

just remember not to have any stick on wheel weights fitted on the inside when you have new tyres.

Yep standard 288's, just for info drilled discs are not the best idea they tend to crack around the holes

That's the point though, its't it?

Personally I wouldn't run drilled because they crack (and it doesn't matter if the discs have cast in strong points round the discs...they still crack...911 turbo discs still crack round the holes) but grooved only offer a tangible benefit on brakes that are used hard, especially with more track biased pads.

no i wouldn't say they were their to kill your pads prematurely (if this is what you mean?)

They are their to supposedly help heat dissipation.... or thats what i believe
