Well that's the wife away with the ED35...
« on: 30 April 2012, 19:23 »
I thought she was up to something when she said have you got petrol in the golf....to which I said yes plenty  to her reply that's good I'll leave you with the A1 as it's low in diesel...

As she reversed out the drive in the ED35, she shouted any chance you could fill the A1....

I thought she liked the golf better than the audi...she is worth the watching...

Mrs W won't drive the Ed35 as she says it's too slow in standard tune, fortunately I never insured her for business use on it either given her parking locations, in fairness I'm reluctant to let her have the 500 either

We only have the one car at present so my wife uses the ED35 most days, she is more sensible than me but does like a good blast. We have always shared cars so we are both used to GTI's.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

No concerns with my wife using our GTi as a daily, it's very safe compared to the modified Civic Type-R we had running 285bhp with a shed load of mods including a supercharger

My wife won't drive ours as she hates the brakes and is scared of the power. She cannot get her head around the car only going as fast as you make it go. Still, means I don't have to keep moving the seat and mirrors

I think it pays to keep an old, shiity car for everday use that the wife can drive.

Mine doesn't work (as such) so hardly has to drive anywhere. That means the Mk6 Golf can stay in the garage all nice and clean and shiney, the Mk2 Golf can stay in my other garage even cleaner and shinier, and we can both drive round and not worry about the kids clambering in and out of my old Passat V6 TDI.

Still, means I don't have to keep moving the seat and mirrors

Why do they do that? Mine moves the seat to drive a couple of miles.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

See I have this dilema, Insured the gf on the golf, great expense, tis going to be the most expensive taxi ride home from the pub (when it eventually happens), but still am very reluctant to let her drive it, even though it is just a golf and it is very easy to drive, she doesn't look both ways when pulling out of junctions and I fear for the alloys.

Could be worse, at least I don't have to put fuel in her car too.....

I'd probably end up putting black stuff in her petrol pug anyway.
