hiding the areal
« on: 29 April 2012, 22:38 »
ok on my new early mk3 gti the areal is on the wing. im planning on getting rid of it as it looks nasty.
i will be filling the hole in and doing some kind of hidden areal inside the wing.

what do i use as the areal inside the? and will i be able to get the radio ok like that?

Mine runs along the inner wing from the scuttle panel area towards the headlight. Cannot be seen at all and reception is good. I have no idea why mine is there as I have the roof aerial on mine but I cannot be bothered to change it.

I used an interior aerial on mine, it bonded to the front screen in the top corner.

You already have the aerial it's just a case of moving it inside the bay and using the grommit you've already won to fill the hole left. Easy job really if the weather improves enough to do it
