That's a grey area now due to I pass them but a vosa official near me failed one due to another change stating a new rfr in the holy manual saying a cat missing that was fitted as standard !! It's a dpf as far as I'm concerned if it passes its emissions I'm happy !

Urm I thought diesels weren't tested on emissions? Only a smoke test....my MK4 never had an emissions test done and neither has my Audi

not just me then,  :undecided:

Oh and the Audi was done at Cardiff Audi too and not some back street garage

A smoke test is the diesel emissions test I'm
Not saying I'd fail a car that's had it's dpf removed I'm just there's a new RFR that says a cat that was fitted as standard is missing il double check that it dosent just apply to petrol cars and were no backstreet garage
aum no spec as no matter what i do il never be happy

Is a DPF classed as a CAT?

http://mottesters.co.uk/files/special%20notices/MOT%20Inspection%20Manual.pdf

Section 7.1 page 1 exhaust systems it states a cat missing that was fitted as standard is a fail now do we class dpfs as a cat I don't know all I'm saying is I certainly wouldn't fail a car with its dpf removed aslong as it went through its emissions but if vosa decide to test your car and spot it they possibly could

Just to note this is the current up to date manual anything with a bold black line next to it is something that's been added or changed recenyl
aum no spec as no matter what i do il never be happy

Ta

Think I'll be placing a call to VOSA to clarify as I don't want to be forking out money on a DPF delete pipe only for me to fail my MOT.......
