suspension problems help please
« on: 04 June 2005, 12:25 »
hi there
i have lowered my golf on 55mm lowering springs from venom motorsport but now that i have installed them the cup on top off the inner wing sits about 5mm off the wing. so when i raise the car the strut drops back down but when i lower it the cup on top sits proud.
what have i done wrong?  i tightened everything up as tight as it would go. someone please help as the car is going for it's MOT next week and wont pass with this problem.

cheers ryan

is this for a mk2?

MOT will pass but sounds like your topmounts need changing if they stretch out quite abit. Use VAG mounts only.

yeah i mean top mount i think? :undecided: where the strut top passes into the inner wing and you have the nut that threads on and has the plastic cap that sits on top in the engine bay. the mount there that sits on the inner wing will not sit flush and is raised alround by about 5mm.
