someone has reversed into my valver

someones just reversed into mty valver whilst it was parked i wasnt even in the car this has never happened to me what do i do?  I have a witness that saw it happen.  Absolute nightmare i have no idea what to do also she was in gear so im gutted as the gearbox might be f**ked as well

spoke to them they dont want to go through the insurance, they were a little funny about the damage that they have caused.  They reckon they've only caught the edge of the bumper but there is is a scuff on the rear left tail panel as well which they're not willing to pay for because apparently it is one of the problems of parking on this street.     The whole bumper was hanging off brackets snapped and that and doesnt want to go back on.  Another problem is it was originally small bumper so what the hell do i order off vag to get it sorted?  Also do i charge them for painting the bumper or what?  Where do i go to have it painted etc etc basically they dont wanna claim on the insurance

if you have there registration details you must report the accident to the police within 24 hours as leaving the scene of an accident is a crime although probably wont go any further but it will help any claim you make and save your no claims, as for the gear box it should be fine mate youll soon know if you start the car and drive about abit thats if its driveable that is.

if there being funny about it use your insurance mate they will sort all that out, if they dont want to go thru insurance company then they have already admitted liability so if there not goner pay to repair all the damage caused then dont go down that road it could be alot of hassle.

shouldnt be a huge problem the garage replaces like for like they will estimate damamge for replacement of parts on that basis as there still standard bumpers i dont see why there would be any problems but this is only a guess, easiest way is get your quotes and let either someone you know and trust do the repairs or one of the repairers from the quotes as they wont inform insurance company you have the incorrect bumpers they will just send them the invoice.

Say to them thats fine don't pay for it but I'm going to report it and go thru insurance. If they won't pay just do it. You will be fine with you big bumper but I'd deffo report it to the police you are in the right and they have done wrong so they will have to pay for it and their ins claim will go up and they will learn never to hit a mk2

Please please report it and go thru ins otherwise you could be left with nothing if they refuse to pay
