CD Changer wiring
« on: 19 April 2012, 12:24 »
Hi Folks, hopefully someone may be able to help with a simple question.

I'm fitting a standard CD Changer in the boot of my 53 plate 2.0GTi.

I have obtained all the bits required, changer, bracket, Rivnuts, wiring assembly and have plugged it all together in the front footwell with the changer working fine when plugged into the socket on the back of my dash mount CD player.

The question I have is this;

The wiring/cable assembly has an additional flying brown wire and single connector. I don't know where this connects to.

The system seems to work ok without it connected.

Any ideas? I was wondering if it might be a supplementary power connection.

Any info gratefully received

Cheers.

Just isolate it. Or you can see if it is a continuous or ignition live. If so, use it for anything you like.
