Remapping - Help!! mk4gti 20v turbo 1.8
« on: 17 April 2012, 19:46 »
Hello!

I am considering putting some money into my gti.

I've been told various bits of advice, that touching the ECU is a very bad move, that the increase in power will effect rest of the car negatively, and then on the other end of the scale that  a remap is a great move.

Any advice would be great!

Best possible mod mate, only get problems when you start doin big turbo changed and start pushin over 300ftlb of torque but a standard stage 1 or stage 2 map it there should be none apart from possibly the clutch.

Thanks !

And did you take out the ECU yourself and then send it off for remapping?

Could i also ask what sort of price is should be looking at for stage one, then stage two??

Thanks!

get a remap done by a professional company - no ebay chip upgrades!

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
