VW repair wire connector Q

oks can you buy the connectors which are on the end of the VW repair wires?



if so what are they called and what spec are they size etc

You can get them from VAG, but the ones I used where loose and not that great this place is good for aftermarket but ring them and send them an email showing what you need!
Mate-N-Lock connectors.

I checked this last week.

You CANNOT buy loose connectors from VW  - they only provide the 'repair' wires with connectors on them.

DannyP suggests shopping here for them, but I haven't had a chance to check this out:

In Etka. You get the part number for the Connector and the associated repair wires/pins will come up for it. You need to know thickness of wire required. usually in 0.5, 1,0 etc.
You will also need seals to go with it. They are the rubber bits that slide over the wire at the back that keeps moisture out.

I bought the repair kit and the housing plug for the pins is shocking quality it was loose and they never sat properly into the recesses. Hence I use the lock types much more secure!
 
If you look at how they slide and grip thats the issues with them push in types and lock are much better! :wink:
