There would be no need to put Golf3 trash like a complete subframe under it.

Even with the wide-track conversion you don't need to install a Golf3 subframe.

Brad as ever over-reaching himself with his interweb nolidge.

The most simple thing to do would be to use G60 mount at the back, on your current subframe, with a 1.3 (solid rubber) gearbox mount and a GTI-type mount at the front.  If you're using a cable-change gearbox you will need the correct flywheel, tinware and (importantly) the front mount bracket, plus driver's side driveshaft to suit the width of track you're using.

I would also supplement this with a pendulum mount to the gearbox to keep the movement down on the set up.

Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Has bracket on the chassis leg and comes down to the gearbox from above, to stabilise it.

Sorry to bump this back to the top, but.

Can we clarify which part and even part nunbers are needed.

I understand the G60 rea, Gti front and 1.3 gearbox mounts. But which bracket is need to run a cable clutch conversion ?

I know I will need the actuator (02b 141 708A) is the correct braket 357199356 ?

I think there's at least one actuator lying about in the barn.

The part I'm not sure we have is the clutch cable tensioner, as outlined:

Tensioning bracket to hold the end of the cable outer - described as a 'support' in ETKA: 357199356 - this was only ever fitted to early LHD 35i Passats

Which is the part you've highlighted, which you might need.  Let's take stock tonight.

That post above is from this post which outlines what you need for a cable-change cable-clutch set up:
