Huh? You can make anything fit anything with the correct adaptors!

bmw wheels are not a direct fitment mate vw are 5x100 or 5x112 where as bmw are 5x120 i believe so the answer to your question is no unless you had some adaptors mate

As above, BMW wheels will only fit with adaptors

Plus they tend to run low offsets which can cause problems with arch clearance etc.

You can't fit any alloys with adapters can you? For example pug wheels wouldn't fit a golf would they?

You can get adapters to fit pretty much any PCD but as Wayne said its the offsets which will cause problems

Couldnt you use spacers to sort out the offset?

When Wayne mentioned the low offset it means that the wheel will stick out further from the hub. So spacers would just stick out further! When using adaptors you have to talk into acc that they will probably be like 15mm or greater so would have to take that into account.

If the offset is really low like ET20 (M3 wheels) then you add 20mm adapters/spacers which will give a final offset of ET0 which would mean your wheels would poke out of the arches by about 30mm or way too much
