So the pink wasn't a style choice then?!

Obviously you've only got to wait till you get the new camera, but it's probably still worth checking if the old one is completely busted or if it's just got itself into a wierd mode of some sort.
Try switching it to full auto and see if that produces a normal photo, then try each of the other modes one by one.

It's gutting when you take photos and they aren't as good as what you hoped when you load them onto the computer.

Yeah i think it was me being ambitious and deciding i knew how to set my white balance instead of leaving it on Auto.
Proper gutted as i was taking better pictures before i went on this camera course for beginners. :embarassed:
But i guess its a learning curve.

Rest of the pics are here.I think im getting my position a bit better at least.

To me the pink seems to represent some sort of over exposure warning on the camera.  :undecided:

Thing is they looked fine on the viewfinder :(
I set the white balance to  fine with forced flash.
The ones indoors seem ok.
ah well I've got a new one being picked up in the morning so will see if I can an orange sky with that one lol.

Out of interest should I shoot in raw or jpeg with the new one?
I have all adobes latest software btw

always shoot raw, if it has it (all nikons do) then shoot raw + jpeg so you get both files.

you actually only need to shoot in RAW, the RAW contains a jpeg preview which can be extracted through software (this is also what the camera displays during playback.

looks like a problem when saving the image, the problem is nothing to do with white balance as the registration plates are pretty  much the right colour, I'd check the memory card and probably do a full reset on the camera.

i only shoot the raw+jpeg for workflow reasons as its faster on my comp to flick through jpegs than the larger raw files.

Well i got my camera late afternoon yesterday.

Wow,what a difference a half decent camera makes!
I finished a few jobs this morning and set off to take some pics near the River Trent.
Bare in mind id not really read the destructions yet so i was just having a fiddle, and set a few shots up using the tripod.
I tickled the levels a bit in Lightroom but apart from that im really pleased with them.

Wont be to your guys standards but im chuffed with them and well chuffed with my new camera!

Pics.

Now the quality looks much better on my pc,ive only uploaded them to facefluff in HQ mode but im guessing they have dumbed them down a bit.

Wheres the best place for me to store my pics online?Free storage that lets you upload 20mb pics would be nice. Cheers :)

Flickr is your friend.

Some good starter shots, I like the last one, but keep an eye on the horizons. Make sure each shot is straight. Best to do it in camera but can be done in Lightroom using the crop tool.

Now buy a 50mm f1.8.

Im looking to get a couple of lens' but havnt done homework yet as to what type of lens i can use.
