« on: 08 April 2012, 08:36 »
Hey all

Well after taking delivery of my new GTD on the 1st of march I'm finding I want more from it so my question is...
Is there any good mappers in the South West that can help me? either mobile or has a base....

Thanks

If you want your GTD done then speak to The Doc; he runs a GTD

Be warned, it involves opening up your ECU

Make sure you use a tuner who knows what they are doing with these new ecus, like Rhyso said they need opening up but also need to be extracted from there security mount which have shear bolt plus the ecu is glued and sealed.  Over on the mk5 gti froum there is a topic on damaged ecu from heavy handed removal.

I dont think APR do TDI maps?

IMHO I would go see Craig aka The Doc I know he has done many many of the anit tune ecus and has a nice clean method of getting the ecu out and open, plus will fit new shear bolts.

If your shopping around just make sure one of the questions you ask the tuner is what method they use to remove the ecu, give Craig a call first and he will explain the whole process to you.

Thanks R-Tech, yeah I don't just want any cowboy playing with my engine and if I'm honest I do want Craig to do it as I know he knows what he's doing, I think the trip up to him will be well worth it esp the drive home

I know at the min he is busy with in house stuff at the min so will contact him when they re-open

Not sure on the way home. I'm usually smiling like a Cheshire cat or the lovely countryside views are a blur  :undecided:
