Managed to get quite abit done last night, 5th gear back on (pain in the arse, managed to drop the selector arm bracket down in the hole and was about to launch it outside, but thankfully a magnet on a stick saved the evening/gearbox/enthusiasm).

Loads of engine bits back on, cambelt put on again, this time, not half a tooth out. New aux belt, just the right size for no power steering, the string measuring worked a treat.

Injectors in and rags out of inlet manifold, loads of other little bits like inlet bolted down, injectors in. Actually starting to look like an engine again.

Seats have been painted now, house stinks, so they can be put back together.

Cage is painted, but will be done again to match the rest of the plan I have for inside, either going to look pretty good or revolting, time will tell

Door handles have arrived, underestimated the size, I expect they would actually look OK in a Noddy car

Think I may take a trip to the BnQ kitchen department somewhen this weekend

I'll finally get some pics up of interior when it's all back in and painted and you can actually see I've done something

Yeah mate, certainly injected some much needed enthusiasm into it.

Need to borrow a work van one night so I can get the cage back to mine and get it painted, unless I get the brush out at Wellow

All fun stuff at the min, got to love interior design

He's the Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen of the forum.

Without so much hair.  And shorter.  With no flowery shirts. Or the posh accent. And not nearly as poncey.

Basically he's like a sh*t Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. With a Golf and a Citroen ZX diesel.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

You coming out for a few then?

Tonight, 5th gear torqued up, selector fork bolted down, everything checked to make sure it was still working before bolting the cups back on and filling the gearbox back up with oil

Gearbox then bolted back on engine, leading to a trip to VW to replace another bolt.

Release bearing borrowed off one of DH's MANY 02A's, thanking you kindly :afro:

Fuel pump wiring and rear light loom run down the side of car and put where it needs to be.

Mk4 battery tray mounted in the passenger side of boot behind wheel arch, an absolute perfect fit, like it's made for it  :smug:

Still got a fair bit of painting to do before bolting the seats/cage back in for hopefully the FINAL time , hoping to get quite abit of the interior done over the weekend if I can fight the need for an ale session tomorrow night
