That bolt! Whhhhhy! Why was it there! Even the Triggnician didn't get that one!

It was the Jesus bolt.  As in:

"Jesus Christ, what the f*ck is that bolt doing there?!"

I have seen in gearboxes before and know they look scary although if you take a min to look and think you can quite easily figure it all out its just havin a guide saves having to think as much

I wouldn't mind a little guide
Speeds up the job a little bit

Will get loads of pictures mate, the gearbox, although having loads of stuff in there is quite simple after seeing it.

Aslong as you keep most of it together, there's only like 4/5 individual items you need to worry about!

This may change when we actually get to fitting it, but I don't think it's going to be that bad.

Bolt crown wheel up to new diff, press on new bearings, assemble back together in case, check for end float, shim to whatever tolerance it needs to be, then put it all back together!

All sounds easy written down, the practical test might be harder than the theory though

Doesnt sound to bad then, still be handy to do a guide for people that need it

Lol, guess it would be rude not to max it out as your allowed! Hope you doing a how to guide could come in handy!

I could certainly take enough pictures to do one actually.

Your not going to need one though if I'm right about your next project :lipsrsealed:

Not necessarily mate, dont think you know what the next project is, its going to be good!

Massive progress on this today.  All except one of the feet is ready for full welding to be completed on it.

Credit to Dave for his work on the fitting up of the steel for the feet - it's a really neat job.  Just need to complement it with a LOT of welding wire.

Welding tan is really over-rated, all the tingling without any progress!

It's quite an ordeal, ever closer now though.
