Very hard lesson to learn, but it's starting to sink in now...

I'll get some of cage feet on Sunday, I remember all that template cutting too well, then putting the cut steel in and still having to mess around with it many times!

May aswell do it to the book though, seats, harnesses etc can all be changed easy enough to comply to the regs, the cage, you might aswell do it right the first time, the feet are not a quick bolt in, bolt out job like the other bits!

Yeah I was talking to DH about the feet plates being spread the tool some measurements and have made some plans

I know what you mean, downloading the blue book now and printing it out to keep at hand
I want to do everything perfect (not always got the knowledge) so may keep asking you and DH questions

Hopefully be on the road for summer but we will see
Wouldn't mind the vag action day at Combe

When you hoping to have it done??

He's a wiser man than me

Finish date? When it's done mate, no idea and not too bothered.

When it's finished, it'll be done right, that's the main thing, more so than how soon I can get it done.

Hard lesson to learn that one. Massive learning curve for me and I'm enjoying it all, so why rush

My birthday is August 19th, would kind of be a decent present to myself to have it done around then

I did slightly gather  :laugh:yeah I do know what you mean but I can't help but have a little bit if excitement

But just as you said I want to do it all properly so if there is something that turns out to take more time than expected then so be it

End of the day missing out on this summer is better then something failing and causing an accident and then missing all the future summers!

yes, but your off buying another set of wheels for it, when you should have bought the exhaust

but you are now getting there, even I have had more input into it, since starting all off with Danny, all those years ago, when we ripped out its old heart

Lots of interests in the cream Recaros you sleep with when you stay over  in the mk4 section, leading to a classifieds thread.

The sale of those will cover the exhaust, then it's just getting it together, on the road and remapped again.

All good things come to those who wait, hmmm, it is Friday afterall
