new key fob casing now remote locking dont work please help

i changed all the internals over and the blade so i did not have to get a new key cut BUT!! now my remote locking wont work
i googled about it and its saying to use your second key to program it is this true???

i only have the one key !!!

any help would be great

i only have one key too :-) ive lasted almost 2 years without needing a 2nd *touch wood*

I had problems with my only key after changing the batterys in it. Try locking with the key, then unlocking. Worked for me

could i get the blade i had with the new casing cut and put that in the ignition and tune it to the on position and program my key with the transponder in the door??

I had problems with my only key after changing the batterys in it. Try locking with the key, then unlocking. Worked for me 

thats what i do and works fine same key for 3 years apart from2 new blades

did you swap everything over? make sure you didnt crack the immobliser chip (cant see it stopping locking working but never know)

in that case ide try recoding it, think its something along the lines of put one key in the ignition and lock the doors but im sure someone who knows for definate will be along shortly, in the mean time have a google, sure there will be something on vwvotex or ukmkivs or here

I'm pressy sure you can do it with vag com or vag tacho

ive been told i need a second key to recode i.e one for the ignition & one for the door but i only have the one!!
dont know if i could get the blank blade that come with the new case cut and use that in the ignition and the recode mine in the door??
