aftermarket stereo into mk4 gti t

hi, new to this forum and being a girl from essex i need some help lol.  i have a bog stock 2000 golf gti 1.8t and want to fit my sony head unit from my last car (standard size).  how easy is the vw stereo to remove/replace?  thanks  chloe
