Golf GT TDI 115 remap

hey :)   saved some money for a remap on my gt tdi 115 and im aware its a good idea to get a better clutch , just wondering what is the better one to get for this model ?

Depends how far you want to take the power.

Just the OEM clutch will be fine if you're only going for a stage 1 remap.  Anything past that then I'd go for an uprated Sachs clutch; be warned that they ain't cheap!

yeh would only be a stage 1 ,  thanks for the info ,

any recommendations for places to go i.e revo , jabba sport, and such?

check your ECU part# first. if it ends 019AM you won't be able to remap it via the obd port

simplest way is to plug in vagcom, less simple way is to remove the wipers/scuttle and whip the ecu out.

if its 019AM you could do a "chip out" remap or just replace the ecu with a later 019CJ which you can pick up for about 50 quid on ebay. you can map those by obd without issues.

your clutch dmf could be weak and a lot of ppl then go on to blame the map for them breaking down not working as they should etc the reality of it is that they are aleady weak to start with and the map just puts more strain on them making them weaker so in theoretical terms you should be prepared to change them or do it before the map hth  :smiley: and as above contact rhyso for a good map on a derv aka kinetic tuning sure he will point you in the right direction  :wink:
