blown head gasket?

only had it three weeks done lots of bit to her after changing my gearbox oil yesterday decided to take to work.Having a bit of fun when a huge cloud of smoke came from the rear and temperature light came on. Pulled over and there was no water in the engine and radiator pipe had burst. Put as much water asposible to get it half mile to safty but was smoking  like a b!tch is  it head gasket gone?

Had the pipe ruptured due to extreme pressure by the look of it. Or was the water loss just down to a split because of its age?

Fit a new pipe and fill it back up and run.  Then you'll see where the leaks are.

Spoke my machanic verbally, he says as the  smoke from the exhaust is more likely steam which means water has got in the engine so b#@?ocks headgasket gone!!!!thats gonna hurt

Depends what colour the smoke was. He's gonna say something like that, he wants your money! Is your oil filler cap creamy?

no the oil looks fine, but I have noticed the car using a little bit of water and temperature gauge on the dash not working

Water leaking through a knackered sender............
As suggested on here mate, sort all your water leaks out before panicking about headgaskets. What colour was the smoke? As said, it could have been steam, but that could have been from the water splashing on the block and exhaust, but obviously with you travelling, you only saw it at the back. Only real way to confirm its not HG is a compression test, but don't flap yet!

ok thanks for that should try and get hose replaced first then see what happens
