looking at a around 1 ton in weight for the mk1 with 200bhp against a mini at approx 750kg and approx 130bhp.

i say the mini gets spanked. it'll run out of steam

oooh way to go on the video of the stationary mini with the wanky music!

What if you tune it 177HP? Then you are looking at surely a pretty equal if not a mini sided race. Quick off the line...

I say golf.....  If the mini had a proper motor in it then maybe it would do better but then I would wonder how well it could put the power down, especially if it has tiny wheels and tyres fitted.

if its a 1.5 its not even a proper vtec is it? thought they were 8 valve?? (lad had work had a "vtec" civic, kept telling my how rapid it was blah blah bla, opened the bonnet and it was a 8 valve. i nearly cried laughing.

i used to have a mini with 1.6 8 valve astra engine and nitrous, it was 125 bhp off the bottle (ported, bored, cam, head, exhaust etc.) and ran 75bhp jets so 200bhp on it. That was quicker than a mk1 golf with 200bhp but was HORRIBLE to drive

im hoping my mk1 20vt should be a bit nicer day to day, yet still have enough with 250bhp to make plenty look daft
