Them prices seem pretty good to me.
My first year the cheapest I could find was £3000 on a 1.3 starlet. At first I could only get 3400 ish but after a lot of ringing around it was still 3000 

You just gotta put up with it for the first year the insurance nowadays is rediculous, the second year it pretty much halved.
