After using mk2s for the best part of 10 years I now have a mk4 GTI-T, it has a factory-fitted 6cd changer in the boot, and a factory-fitted Sony-Ericsson handsfree kit including a small speaker in the passenger footwell and charger wire coming from the lower-left centre console and a small mic coming out the roof panel where the courtesy lights are.
I have a nice Sony head unit from my old car with bluetooth, USB and everything, so I'm going to eBay an adapter to fit it in my mk4.
Now for my pickle: I want to get rid of that Y2K handsfree charger and it's mic and speaker, and I also want to be able to control the cd changer in the boot from the new head unit. I fear I wont be able to and the cd-changer will be sitting there wasting it's time. I'd rather be able to use it, but the new head unit with bluetooth calling and music is an unbelievably good feature!
Any advice before I take the dash apart would be much appreciated (I hope I dont need to pay someone to do it for me!).
