Low throttle misfire 8v digifant
« on: 27 May 2005, 09:46 »
Help! Has anyone ever had this problem? I get a misfire/hesitation at low throttle opening, i.e. when cruising at part throttle . If I open the throttle further I can drive throught it and it goes away.  I thought it was electric so I have renenwed the plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor and the coil.  It seemed to improve things but its come back again, though not as bad.
Any ideas?  It's a 1989 8v digifant.

On top of that what fuel are u using - I had a similar problem and practically replaced the whole fuel and electrical system!

At the same time I had put a tank of BP ultimate in instead of Optimax as per usual - when I changed back I never had the problem again ...

I had been using 95 octane so I tried a tank full of super but there was no change. Anyway, I had been using the same fuel for ages and never had a problem.

What would changing the temperature sensor do?
