new modified map received from SC today to try.

i wanted to smooth out the mid range and it seems to have worked so well pleased.

can't beat superchips customer service.

going to run it on the dyne at PDT to see how its running.

Would have been nice to see the previous one as its probably the one I would have considered.
Guessing the new one takes into account your airfilter and exhaust

well the 'normal' map probably won't make any difference in power but for my car it just felt slightly out.

i just noticed that from 2600-3200rpm the engine would feel slightly hesitant or laboured then take off again at 3200rpm.

my dad reckoned it was turbo lag but i wasn't sure. it seems to be gone now anyway.

i felt this slight 'holding back' or hesitation before the exhaust and filter were fitted but the intake seemed to make this more noticeable - though it was VERY slight i though i might as well try a new map.

i think they reduced boost pressure slightly in this rev range but it seems to have smoothed it out and in reality feels quicker as its pulling better, not holding back then surging.

i spoke to PDT and they will run my car on the dyno and can find out exactly how its boosting/fuelling and advise me on where the map could be made better but it feels better now. i would say it was 90% there in the first place, i just wanted it as good as possible.

What modified map did you receive? The very latest Stage 2 that they've just release?

No I just asked them to tweak it and they then make it available to download with the handset.

If you think it can be improved or have any issues just explain to them andthe twill tweak the map for you

Ah right, when i first got my map they sent me the wrong map as it was for the manual and there was a bad flat spot, called them and they resent me the DSG map and it's great, I want the new and improved stage 2 but don't want to spend money on a turbo back exhaust and an intake system :embarassed:

you could run a stage 2 map with just a down pipe if you wanted. you don't have to fit the cat back too but i think a down pipe would cause issues with the warranty.

i was at PDT the other day and they said the down pipe on the gti is really restrictive and you get massive gains changing it out but I'm not planing on doing mine just yet

Yeah, I don't think I'll do mine, I will only have my car for another 6-12 months so it's not worth it.
