Looking at that torque graph and figure looks more standard than stage 1 if it is stage 1 torque its low.

If you're right mate, then they are having a laugh at 249BHP stock BHP.

This is their Stage 1 map

http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/GolfMk6GTi%20Stage1.pdf

It's all very confusing. They claim 249bhp for a standard GTI and 274bhp with their map, yet quote a 44bhp increase. It doesn't make sense to me?

If you read this http://www.superchips.co.uk/roadtest/Superchips%20Stealth%20Black%20MK6%20Golf%20GTI.pdf

it says, "Interestingly, in all the dyno testing that Superchips has carried out on the standard Mk 6 GTI, they’ve found the actual figures to be substantially higher than the factory claims. This particular car clocked no less than 249 bhp at 6651 rpm and 307 Nm at 5167 rpm. For a car which is rated at 210 PS (207 bhp) and 280 Nm, according to the official factory figures, that’s already pretty healthy"

So they do indeed quote 249 bhp as STANDARD NOT Stage 1. So therefore their Stage 2 is looking @ 46 bhp increase according to that. Not so good anymore?

the dyno room evo magazine said they always find GTI's produce over what VW say. 230 bhp or something i can't remember.

in the same article they also say the megane 250 puts out about 270 or something but the 300bhp RS focus is actually 280 or something - they haven't run one with the full 300bhp yet apparently.

they quote gains of 44bhp @ 4743rpm so they're saying mid range is big gains. thats not at peak power though

peak power gains of 25bhp @6170rpm so the big figure of 274bhp is max output at high rpm.

And this is why I want to see yours on a dyno dynamic rolling road.
I may even do mine for comparison

I'm taking it to PDT on a rolling road day soon so will get a figure then.

44bhp in the mid range is probably fairly accurate i would say. it certainly feels it. 25bhp at the top end is believable too as it it seems to tail off a bit but is more the OEM. the top end OEM tails off a lot more. the mid range is definitely healthier with the bluefin.

had it out last night and the night before and it felt rapid but had it out today and didn't feel quite as quick so the GTI really likes the cold air!

Exactly!

I had mine on one as stock and it made exactly 209bhp. remap was a different story. I would ignore headline figures and take the gains and add them to 210 to get your real figure if you are that interested.
