Very interesting ...
« on: 12 March 2012, 14:52 »
Superchips / Bluefin have always been the 'tamer' of all the maps out there, and with Kenny recently getting 300bhp from his, it seemed like that's the very limit for power ...

295bhp?! Not bad...

I called them and they said the only supporting mods the car had were an intake and turbo back - intercooler wasn't touched.

Thoughts?

Original BHP looks a little high for a stock GTI?!?!?

I think the stock value in that picture is post Stage 1 remap.  I have a Stage 1 Bluefin and I have to say its superb, very OEM feel.

I have considered the Superchips stage 2 but if I wanted that sort of power that torque steers the car everywhere I'd have got a different car.

Have you driven the car with that sort of power? They claim it still has a very OEM feel about the power delivery, and it drives very well.

Hmm, may be the dyno they use? I have an article on the Superchips remap for the ED30 using Bluefin, std power quoted at 244BHP and stage 1 map at 307BHP so these look high too?
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

It's not their dyno, it's the BHP after their Stage 1 Remap.

OK thanks, on that basis then std ED30/35 is very similar power to Bluefin stage 1 GTI map.

Really? I thought Bluefin gets 275+ on the ED30/35?

281BHP with a stage one and a cat-back.

Looking at that torque graph and figure looks more standard than stage 1 if it is stage 1 torque its low.
Mk6 GTI  &  Mk1 GTI
34 years of GTI ownership.
