Do you oil them or just leave them as they are?

I used to have the one that sat behind the bumper, but have moved all the tubing under the bonnet next to the battery, so I have ordered a new filter, and as its going to be in the bay, wanted to see if people oil them or leave as is

Cheers

Leave it as it is and when it gets mucky clean then oil it up. Becareful with the cold air feed kits, I ran one, sucked up some rain water and bent all all my valves on my old first 1.8t engine..

You have been warned.
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

was it just a bit of rain water on the road or was it flooding a little?

If you want a cone mate, get one that doesn't need oiling otherwise you will ruin your maf every couple of months, that's why I sacked off my cone and have an airbox now!

The oil gets sucked through the filter over time and ruins the sensor on the maf! Took my cone off the other week for an airbox much better imo

Not true you can run the risk of messing up your maf this is due to people over oiling the cone if you coat it light and clean it every 3 to 4 mths like i do i have seen no problems and heaps of people run cones without any problems..... porwer wise it has been proven though bud panel filter and r32 intake pipe is the way to go though bud... but on the v6 the note is just to good!!

Was a serious freak storm but you can never tell in this country especially in months like March...

All about a cone filter over panel imo
