First Mk2 Golf GTI 16v
« on: 06 March 2012, 11:58 »
Hi all,

I have just brought my first Mk2 GTI 16v which i pic up this sat

The car is standard apart from coilovers

Not quite sure how to insert pics of the car??  :undecided: HelP!

I want to keep the car looking as standard as possible but i want to fit some wide wheels with stretched tyres and lower it.

The car already has coilovers fitted and is lowered 20mm but can go to 40mm.
I have not decided on wheels yet but i am looking at BBS RS, Schmidt TH Lines or something different to those and go for steels...

The car currently rubbs a small amout when on full lock at the front so i am assuming that it will rub even more when it has the new wider wheels on it and is lowered?

What i am asking is what do i need to achieve the euro look? ie spacers or rolled arches or something?

Let me know if you need any more info and i will try and provide.
I am totally new to all this so any help or a point in the right direction would be great.

Thanks

Forget the coilovers and fancy wheels. Fit standard suspension, BBS RA's with 185-55-15 tyres. Job done.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Why mess with it when it's perfect.

All I would do is find some rubber mats, hide the tax disk lower in the screen and find the OEM stereo.

The hard work has been done. Spend the money on detailing products!
