Do you bleed your own brakes?
« on: 05 March 2012, 07:53 »
If so any tips?

Or do you just take it somewhere? understand they can be a biatch, and only one "success" on the How To in the maintenance section.

Buy an easy bleed kit. been told its easier than having someone pump the break while your tipping in fluid

Still, only one "success" in the how to, using this. Doesnt fill me with confidence.

I am in the same boat as you, not sure weather to do it myself or not...

I think I will buy an easibleed kit from halfrauds and just hope I read the guide properly

When replacing the fluid is it best to use 'branded' brake fluid, or will halfrods own Dot4 be just as good?

can i just ask what they actually did, a buisness would seriously have to f**k me off for me not to use them anymore, and all the vw garages around here are very helpfull the amount of times ive gone in for something expecting to pay 20 quid or so and came out with the parts FOC/theyve opend the box and taken only the part i need and sent the other parts back. you must just have a bad dealer

I've had a lot of success with these on many cars.  Great piece of kit.

Used to buy parts every week.

Went in for coilpack recall, three days of messing around later, I popped the bonnet in the car park (c#nt, I know but trust me,) and no2 coil was not plugged in properly.

Feck letting them monkeys touch her again, lol.

Seeing a bit more positive feedback in this thread, feel a DIY coming on!
