Sorry to hear that?.... when you say the "Guy on bike doesn't look like he has no money", do you mean he looks like he's got money then or not? I presume not.

If his excuse is he had no brakes then clearly it's his fault for not maintaining his vehicle. I would insist that his bike is tested to prove it one way or another.. If his brakes are fine, he's telling porkies, and if they're not then its still bad for him surely.

The problem is that in the real world the idiot on the bike will get away with it (injuries not withstanding) and you'll be left with a damaged car and higher insurance premiums.

I saw similar on xmas eve, about 11 at night. 2 young lads on a scrambler flying down the road with no helmets, woman pulled out and didnt see them as they obviously had no lights. Very bad mess of everything/one involved. Feel for the parents of the stupid young lads, as they obviously had the worst xmas you could imagine, and the woman who pulled out will have it on her conscience for the rest of her life, even though she did nothing wrong. passanger on the bike suffered serious head injuries and is now left with moderate brain damage which will affect him for the rest of his life, and the rider unfortunately was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Most bikers are pretty careful as they know they've had it if they come off, but lots have a very stupid blase attitude.

True I suppose, it's sad that with matters like this the wrong people usually always get stung.  I've heard too many nasty stories by people who have been stitched up after being hit by uninsured drivers, another thing that makes my blood boil.

Won't go into detail here as it's mentioned on the first page of my Project and Dub Rides threads but my MK1 came to some serious harm after other peoples negligence that I ended up paying for.. grrrrr

That's horrible...... Sadly the only people I don't feel sorry for in this situation are the lads on the bikes... You take chances like that and you're literally. begging for trouble.

The trouble is that the insurance companies are unable/unwilling to make any serious effort to stop these things happening, all they are doing is taking the easy route by loading up premiums on young drivers or those who own decent motors and will pay more money to keep their pride and joy legal and protected.
You would like to think that when some scrote breaks the law and causes you injury and/or damage to your property then that same law would step in to redress the balance but it just doesn't happen.

And then you have the people that defraud their own, or others insurance. Whiplash being a recently debated one. A common, bullsh*t claim that is trying to be addressed (although I think the new rules proposed for a claim are hilarious).  The sad thing is I suppose is that it is quite hard to prove blame when most of what is judged is via paper or verbal statements.

My bad luck had plenty of eye witnesses, some of which included the police, but the accident was caused by irresponsible "Travelers" who still denied everything and the police ended up telling me on the day there wasn't anything they could do.

Police gave me his mobile number will be ringing him tomorrow, even tho got protected no claims if move ins company still goes against you. Ins rubbish should give you back 50% of premium at end of your 12months if you dont make a claim be alot less claims.

This is why pr!cks on bikes should be made to have 3rd party insurance. If it had been your fault he wouldve been knocking on the compo calim solicitors door straight away! Did you report it the old bill to cover your @rse?
