Going work yesterday turned left and some dick on bike straight across junction into back of my car. 2 massive dents in my 1/4 panel, he ended up with broken arm and back injury. Price quoted to fix £700 needs new 1/4 panel. Guy o bike doesn't look like he has no money, go through ins my premium goes up. His excuse why he didn't stop at juction he had no brakes on the bike.
Sorry to hear that?.... when you say the "Guy on bike doesn't look like he has no money", do you mean he looks like he's got money then or not? I presume not.
If his excuse is he had no brakes then clearly it's his fault for not maintaining his vehicle. I would insist that his bike is tested to prove it one way or another.. If his brakes are fine, he's telling porkies, and if they're not then its still bad for him surely.
The problem is that in the real world the idiot on the bike will get away with it (injuries not withstanding) and you'll be left with a damaged car and higher insurance premiums.
True I suppose, it's sad that with matters like this the wrong people usually always get stung. I've heard too many nasty stories by people who have been stitched up after being hit by uninsured drivers, another thing that makes my blood boil.
Won't go into detail here as it's mentioned on the first page of my Project and Dub Rides threads but my MK1 came to some serious harm after other peoples negligence that I ended up paying for.. grrrrr
I saw similar on xmas eve, about 11 at night. 2 young lads on a scrambler flying down the road with no helmets, woman pulled out and didnt see them as they obviously had no lights. Very bad mess of everything/one involved. Feel for the parents of the stupid young lads, as they obviously had the worst xmas you could imagine, and the woman who pulled out will have it on her conscience for the rest of her life, even though she did nothing wrong. passanger on the bike suffered serious head injuries and is now left with moderate brain damage which will affect him for the rest of his life, and the rider unfortunately was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Most bikers are pretty careful as they know they've had it if they come off, but lots have a very stupid blase attitude.
That's horrible...... Sadly the only people I don't feel sorry for in this situation are the lads on the bikes... You take chances like that and you're literally. begging for trouble.
