Developing DSG problem??

Wondering if anyone else has experienced similar or is this the beginnings of a problem with my DSG box?

In D when pulling away at a sedate pace 1st to 2nd is smooth; 2nd to 3rd is like the clutch is slipping??; 3rd to 4th an onwards are all smooth changes.

When the box changes from 2nd to 3rd it is as though (if I was driving a manual) I have still got my foot on the accelerator and am dipping the clutch slowly at the same time so that you get a sudden burst of revs. I have only really noticed this of late and only under normal driving, when I put my foot down it doesn't happen to the same degree. Hope this makes sense

I've never encountered this (either myself or someone else mentioning it), so if it gets worse it's definitely unusual.

Hmm, guess it may be time to have a chat with the local dealers then and see what they say....

On another point if I take the car in to my dealer to get the problem looked at under warranty should I refit my old air filter or will I be okay leaving on the ITG filter that I have had fitted? Don't know if it voids the warrant....

This is a new one on me and different to the reported DSG problems I have read about. I have had 3 DSG equiped cars now and all have been perfectly reliable.

I would take it to the dealer and insist that a senior tech goes with you on a test drive so you can demonstrate the problem and know that they have recognised there is an issue. With regard to the airfilter this has nothing to do with the gearbox so should not affect the warranty of the gearbox. Do they already know it has the filter fitted? Its up to you,  go in as is and you are not hidding anything or take it off and car is std (assuming there is nothing else?).

Good to know that it should not affect the warranty, I don't have anything to hide so I will take it in as is and hope they don't try to be stroppy with me!

Yeah, I've been doing a search on the 'net and so far have not come across a similar problem.

Now I just got to get some time away from work to take the car in!

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but there's a quite a few of us that have found that the DSG very, very occasionally seems to slip into neutral for a second or two when coasting around bends (even though it's in D).
