Neutral = not right. Never experienced this myself
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

Definitely not normal and it was also on a bend. Only time I've ever noticed it. It's due in at the dealer soon so I'll have a word with them then.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but there's a quite a few of us that have found that the DSG very, very occasionally seems to slip into neutral for a second or two when coasting around bends (even though it's in D).

See if this sounds the same ?

Mine still does this after 30K miles... very intermittent so not worth taking to the dealers.

I hear it's a software issue and there's a software update for the DSG box which fixes it. But dealers will only fix if you can demonstrate the problem:
