For work a few years ago I bought a Logitech Alto docking station/Keyboard combo.

http://www.reghardware.com/2007/05/11/review_logitech_alto_keyboard/

It looked very nice and worked well for a few weeks.  Then trouble began because it has a short power lead, and its connection to the unit became loose.  In the end it wouldn't power on at all.

I rang the customer services number and got a dead line tone.  A Google search threw up another number and I got straight through to Qatar. Yes, Qatar.

Explained the issue - No quibble, they shipped me another one FOC.  Arrived in about 4 days.

That one worked fine ever since.

thats quite a nice stand!!

Just bought a monitor though... initally feared I would have to connect screen, sound and power everytime  :undecided: But the wireless keboard usn thing is very small so that stays in laptop. HDMI takes care of screen and sound.

Problem solved.... although I must say the shortage of solution surprises me
