« on: 16 February 2012, 17:53 »
Mk3 8v Gti AGG 1996
As per title, keeps trying to cut out.
On the motorway kept juddering all through the gears, couldn't maintain a stable speed without it juddering.
Just before christmas it had
Ht leads
plugs
dizzy cap
rotor arm
oil change
pipercross air filter
temp sensor

Heads now baffled, got me mechanic mate having a look in the morn, hopefully can seek the source of the problem for me.

I would agree with khare. Let's hope its just a relay which is cheap as chips to replace. Let us know the result

I'm thinking more on the electrical side.
I did forget to mention it did backfire a couple of times :undecided:

So coil, ECU and fuel pump relays are not electrical?

Check spark plugs also. Mine had similar symptoms to yours ie: not being able to maintain speed, juddering in any gear, backfiring. Turned out to be coil (died on the way home from a dyno). RAC came to the rescue, sold me a new coil and it's not been a problem since.
