O ok. Might have to do something like that on mine. Its my first Golf. Had a 1.4 Polo before this. Can i put a cai on mine with the K&N or will i need a new filter. Sorry for all the questions ha.
get a cai off ebay £30 and chop it down ,like i done .You have to get a new filter. I got a new second hand one for £25 off ebay. God i love the sound it used to make and better power then having it in the wheel arch.  You can run a cai with your k&n on the end, but watch deep pudles and it lags a bit , i swear the uprated panel filter felt better.  :undecided:
AGU 1.8T. Mods done: R32 front bumper, turborev smic, ngk platinum spark plugs, uprated pancake pipe, demon motorsport boost hoses, forge 007 dv, forge engine cover, r-tec stage 1 map ,home made cold airfilter ,run on 98 ron fuel and castrol edge 0w 40 oil. Advanti racing alloys.

Might invest in a new filter then mate and do what you done. why is it better to have it where you got it and not in the wheel arch? Would it not get more cold air from wheel arch? Or it not work like that?

It might have been because the engine had to suck through a long pipe or the cheap airfilter that came with it. I wanted to copy the pipercross vis kit .
