Air box sensor/ignition amp module
« on: 09 February 2012, 21:02 »
I have just put a K&N air filter on my Mk4 1.8T Golf. I have taken the module out and connected it back to the 2 cables. Do i have to wrap the module up or anything? Also what is this actually for?

nope, just secure it onto either you cai intake pipe or put the screw from the ignition amp into the old slot were your air box went. just needs to be kept cool.

So basically as long as it stays cool there's no problem? I read somewhere else that its basically reads how much air is going in and how much fuel to send into the engine.

its for the sparks for your plugs.  put anywhere were it wont move about. Leave the heat sink on it.

You could put some new heat paste behind the heat sink. Lot of people kill them by removing it from the airbox. It took 2 years, then mine went. Theres jake sh!t behind it (heat paste) .Also k&n induction kit  sounds and looks good ,but looses power. Heat soak. :nerd:

Alright so just put my heat paste behind it? Why does it lose power? What filter helps the car to gain power?
