Redknapp would have to nuts to take on that job....the whole squad needs a shake up, get rid of all the so called superstars that have under achieved for the past decade or so and try and distinguish a team and not just a squad of players. They need a manager who specialises in dicipline and authority. Someone who basically will be on their backs for 90 minutes. Pearce has the personality but lacks the experience. But look how far experience has got you in the past. I would say give him a try, forget the big name and big wage.

I agree that Pearce should be given a shot. How else is he going to gain the experience of managing a top International team, unless someone actually gives him that chance! Good manager, and wore the shirt with Pride! Something that they will do well to learn from Pearce! You never know, by the end of his term in management, some of em may even know the National Anthem, and actually sing it prior to Kickoff!

Indeed....there seems to be some sort of poshness in the England set up for some time now, a feeling of superiority from everyone else and failure is looked upon and some cataclysmic media event. Someone like Pearce could bring back a bit of realism. If they fail the fail, failing gracefully is just as important that winning gracefully. These days is just disgraceful full stop. Pearce should be given it long term so he can learn, the players can learn and maybe one day soon they might actually win something.

Pearce is not up to the job. HR is probably one of three that are up to the job.

If I was in the FA.. the last thing I would do is listen to the public. Everyone seems to have forgotten the KK scenario  :lipsrsealed:

These current player need someone to be firm but fair with clear understanding for a teams strong/weak point and ability to apply tactics accordingly. Sound like some you know?? Come back Fabio

On a serious note... rafa is the man for england. Tactically he is top draw, and excels in cup competition.

You don't need another foreign manager learn the lesson it just doesnt work. The need a good clear out start from scratch with the youth players & get rid of all the overpaid & pampered old boys. It may take time to become a formidable force but it could possibly just happen given enough time.

As Kersse said, clear out the old, and bring in the new. Use the euros as a springboard to assess the youngsters and blood them in ready for the World Cup. The England Rugby team have done it successfully in the past by using the 6 nations as a tinker tournament!
