Im going for a outsider Ian Holloway as he speaks his mind

That would be Awsome! There is a man that excites the players, makes the whole dressing room buzz, and would make players enjoy playing for England again! Not really an option though I guess as the FA are too far up their own asses to appoint someone with the reputation as a bit of a joker. And the fact he's a gas head is the only reason I don't rave about him day and night! He is the only gas head I have any respect for though!  :lipsrsealed:

So pleased he`s gone, £24 million wasted.  Who would want the job.  The warm welcome and hype lasts about 5 minutes and then the slagging off starts.  Mind you for that money I would do it.

This is the FA's fault again. They paid Steve McClaren such ridiculous wages, so when a proper manager came along, it cost them even more

Kind of makes sense though, you HAVE to be English to play.. so why not English to manage? Nothing against foreign managers but either way England are sh!t..

I'm not sure anyone can do anything with the english team.
If a guy with a record like Capello can't then we need to just face it, the players are sh!t.

I wouldnt say the players are sh1t.. although you could argue that. They are just not adaptable. Joe Cole aside how many top english players play abroad??

Even then the ones that have played abroad previously have had to be players of a slightly different nature. English players playing in england know only one way of playing.

This probably excludes a crop of around 5-10 that could possibly apply their trade elsewhere if required.... but dont because they are deemed too expensive by all but premier league clubs.

All boils back down to one thing.... grasss roots. As always the emphasis has been put on being tall, strong, powerful, fast etc etc. As an example we had a brazilian kid come and join our 6th form for a few months. His technical ability was miles ahead of anyone else.. I got on with him and asked why.

His simple answer was why would you learn to kick a ball when the others around have not learn to control it... the boy had a point. They ALWAYS trained with smaller balls, and even heavier ones to improve touch. That just doesnt happen in england.. until it does, everyone will continue to support the most overhyped team since the a-team.

It does happen in England but just doesn't happen enough. My son goes to Roundhay Park on a Saturday morning to the Brazilian Soccer School that they run there (and all round the country) and it's all about skill, touch and passing. He's come on leaps and bounds since starting it 18 months ago. If anyone can be bothered google Simon Clifford and he's been trying to get people playing this way for 15 or 16 years and his long term plan is to get Garforth Town in the premier league (everyone's gotta have a dream right ? ) but with all the players coming through Brazilian Soccer Schools. Yes lines his pockets but they would be a pretty good team. :afro:
......now officially dubless.

Glad to see someone is finally doing something about it. I remember rivaldo being asked why has no back lift on his shots. His answer was to practise shooting with a band restricting both ankles... Just shows if you are taught the right way!!

I may go ask if I can join in seeing as I am only 5mins from roundhay park

Have done the 5k fun run there a couple of times on a saturday morning... but that was before x,as, far too fat and busy now  :undecided:
