Being as I know what a sh!temobile the Clio is, your answer is definitely the Clio there isn't a lot wrong with the Polo it is almost Golfesque so plastics are better than anything Renault chucks out just ask Hurdy.

PMSL so golfesque means its top drawer? i can't believe how many people rave on about build quality, fit and finish and materials on VWs when they rattle, mark as easily and have gaps as bad or if not worse as any other manufacturer.

my 182 cup is the only brand new car i have bought which didn't rattle. and it was less than half £ of the GTI.

again I'm not slagging the GTI as i really love and enjoy my car but its not what the marketing and sales people would have you believe it is.

Easy what you say here mate. Dare claim the GTI is anything other than perfect and you'll get shot down. I had the usual badge snobs attempt to shoot me down when I said that my ST sounded better than a GTI, modded easier, and didn't have any wind noise at 165 GPS verified leptons.

My car must have been built on a Friday. It’s just over 2 years old has 35,000 on the clock with no rattles no squeaks all body panels and interior finish is the normal high standard expected of a VW.

gman86, I think if you use the search function and read a few older posts you may come to a different conclusion.

I am not saying the GTI is rattle free, what I am saying is that the interior plastics are better than in a  Renault.

Looks great but the power seems very low for what looks like a normal sized car.

its very light weight though but your right power does seem low and torque is abysmal. all the torque is high up the rev range too. sounds like a car thats going to love being thrashed though

subaru and toyota are bringing out stripped out, black bumper track day versions too!
