Can I track my GTD

My car was built yesterday so I am in the same boat as you, excuse the pun, can't bloody wait, wish you could track it online lol

You can call VW customer services if you don't like bugging your dealer all the time - that's what I do

Oh cool, do I need any info to phone vw customer service, like some sort of customer number??

0800 0833 920 opt 1 and they normally ask for your 8 digit order/commission number, although I believe they can find it using your name too. It's worth a try. Just ask them if you can check the status of your order, and if they tell you to speak to the dealer, ask them if they are refusing to check and for their name, I've only had that happen once.

Thanks for the number mate,  I gave them a call after getting the commission number...I was told that the car is at emdon and will be there till weds/thurs of next week, it will then be shipped and takes a few days to get the uk docks...it will then sit there for a week making sure all necessary paperwork ect is done...it will then take its final destination towards the dealers....so realistically I won't be taking delivery for another 4wks

I think that's worst case, I'd still be very hopeful that you would have it for 1st March. I am hoping I will have mine by 1st March, the dealer doesn't seem too concerned by that. He said he can turn it around within 24 hours of it arriving at the dealers. What's really annoying is that my build week was week 4 and it then changed to week 7, before being brought forward to week 6. If it stayed at week 4 then I would definitely have it for 1st March.

Oh okay, I will keep my fingers crossed, I'm gonna give customer services another call in 2wks time to see how far the cars got....oh that's bummer mate, to hear you had a date for It to be built for it then to be put back ....
Hopefully we're both be smiling come the end of the month

I'd be interested to know if your car has left Emden yet as my car is there now. My dealer seems v optimistic that it would arrive with them within a week. I think he's a bit too optimistic.... but it's obviously happened before for him to say it?

Ah nice, I hope it does as I might get on that ship too! I phoned customer services, but I know that the dealer and customer services both have the same info (they use the same system), they just say that to try and stop people calling. I've literally called every day for the last week lol. Spoke to my dealer once. I'd rather pi** customer services off than my dealer as he's the one who I've got to deal with ! 

I'm not having the car cleaned or anything when it is PDI'd I told them to do the very least that they can, no stickers in the windows, no tax disc holder, I'll do it all myself in my mates unit - and stick a good few layers of wax on

The dealer said he will ring me again on Thursday with some more news.  He said they never know if it will make it on the Boat.  Sometimes they fit a few more on, sometimes they dont.  Does not sound very German to me....

Hi Scott, I emailed Marc(my dealer) this morning to find out where my car is and I've been waiting for a reply all day, just as I was phoning customer services my wife decides to say..."oh yeah Marc phoned this morning when you were in the shower" So course I ad a little go at the misses for forgetting to tell me sooner Grrrrrrr!

Anyway my car is still at Emden and is being shipped in the next couple of days, the car shud be at the dealers in the next 7 days or so....customer services told me this and he knew a lot more than the women I spoke to last week so I'm a lot happier now, sounds like mine, urs and Cliff's will be delivered to there respective dealers around the same time, so looks good for beginning of march chaps...
