Some help!

Hi
I'm English, but live in Estonia. Therefore my manual is in Estonian and I can't read all of it 

There's some stuff in terms of "convenience" I don't understand:

Travel mode on/off. What is this?
Mirror down? What does this do?
Coming home, leaving home. What is this and how do I operate this?

Also the boot - if I get out of the car with the engine running, the boot is always locked, which means I have to take the ignition out and press the button. Anyway to avoid this?

Hope someone can help! Would be easier for me to get a manual in English...but at 60€ a copy, I am hoping someone can tell me the answers! Might be some more stuff coming up too once I can remember it

Not sure what travel mode is.

Mirror down, I'm guessing, is when the passenger mirror dips down so you can see the kerb when reversing etc

Coming home, leaving home lights use your headlights (or at least they do on my A3) to light up your house, drive way, garage, whatever else when you lock/unlock the car so you can see where you are going. They automatically go off after 30 secs or so.

If the Golf is anything like my A3, there should be an unlock button on your door. Press that a couple times and you should be able to open the boot without taking the key out of the ignition.

i think if you press unlock button (on the drivers door) all doors and boot unlock even with the engine running. I've definitely had the boot open with the engine on without removing the key. i just press the door button

Can't remember what travel mode does, I never use it
Mirror down - when you put in reverse it adjusts the position of your passenger wing mirror, slightly in and down (for kerb etc). Good option to use
Coming/Leaving - you can set a timer on these i.e. how long you want your lights to be on during either option. Leaving: when you unlock your vehicle the lights will come on for as long as you set it for or until you have opened and then closed any door. Coming: when you have arrived home and you want your lights to stay on for as long as you have set them to, you will need to flick the beams to activate (can't remember if you need to flick them before or after turning the engine off, give it a try

And yes to the above too, unlock your car using the controls on the drivers armrest

Hi Guys - thanks for all the replies!

Yes I do have Xenons - and I drive in Europe! Does that mean I need the option marked (as I am in Estonia) or does it mean as it's a European version - activating it sets it for UK conditions?    I'll have to get the Mrs to sit in the car and turn it on and off while I am in front of the lights.

Will go an mess about with things now - meaning that I am sure to come back with more things I don't understand
