I have driven cars with both and I think it is nice to have but wouldn't pay for it as I don't think it's worth the money.  I found the comfort was too floaty on country roads and sport just too firm on anything but smooth roads so tended to leave it in normal. If it was included in the spec like the Scirocco I wouldn't mind. I am not against the system it would be better it it was automatically triggered to turn on if you go for full throttle or put the DSG in manual or sport or something like that, I would then be happy to pay. I guess it's something you get more used to over time and find the right times to use it such as cruising on the motorway.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

I've come from Audi's so I'm used to hard suspension, in comparison the GTI is positively limo like.

Best option by far in my opinion.

A real mood thing. Comfort for a rainy Monday morning into work, normal/sport for a weekend blast.

The ride in comfort is amazingly smooth and limo like, normal is obviously firmer and more stable.
You get to choose - that's the great thing about it.

Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

One of the best drives I've ever had was in my GTI, heading accross Perthshire during the storms last summer, it was lashing down, trees down everywhere and blowing a hooly...I stuck it in comfort to soften it and went about 14 miles with the TC light flashing the whole way, picking my way through debris and fallen trees - it was one of the best drives I've ever had.

Standard was just too hard for the consitions. Comfort softened it us enough to make it uber-drivable in the awful conditions.

(Not that I condone pressing on in such conditions...but I was the only person daft enough to be driving on that day - the view through the windscreen was like watching 'Twister')

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
