They do need to be 18" shadows as i got a lot better PX price if i put the car back to how i bought it but those replicas look spot on as they're the first Monza Shadows reps i've seen with a 7.5 rim width, might ask them if they've got any better pics thou.

I need some good one's that dont look too different from the genuine one's TBH.

To be fair, most reps will look good when they are brand new, it's when they are a couple of months old that they'll start to look shabby. You'll be long gone by then.

I pitty the new owner tho'.

No I don't. Feck it, we'd all do the same
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Just a little update, been to Pullman's @ Durham today and what a difference, really impressed with them.

Thrashed out a deal on a new Golf R , no piss take on PX value and gave me free goodies and discount off RRP.

SO have a few parts for sale if anyone's interested  (will put them in the classified section shortly)

Oh also got a call from Lookers VW saying they'd give me £15,600 PX instead of £15,000 if i'd buy now!

Hi Sunday Driver...

Im a long time lurker ron this forum....used to have various fast Golfs years ago..before i went to the darkside..Audi...still call in now and then for the crack..

Anyway..did Pulman take your Golf out for a test drive before offering you part x?...The reason i ask is..i traded in a E46 M3 there for a new R32 years ago..and they insisted on taking the M3 out to check for mechaioncal defects..only garage thats ever done that!!!

They claim it was because someone traded in a A4 cabby...walked away with new car they then found out full roof mechanism was shagged...cost them 7 k to renew!!!!

Always a pleasure to deal with though and got good prices on the two deals ive done with them over the years!!!!

Yes really pleased with the deal i got from them and the with the service (up to now anyway!)
and no the salesman didn't take it out for a test drive, just had a good look round it.

I'm also surprised he hasn't ran me yet to ask when i'm bringing in the MK6 that they've taken in as PX.

So went to Lookers VW at middlesbrough today to try and do a deal on a new Golf R, wanted to trade in my 59 plate GTI (12,000 miles, absolutely mint etc) and got offered £15K and £300 extra if i left the BBS CK's on!!
It's hard to gauge a PX value, has anyone any idea's on what price i should be looking for.
Oh he also said he'd knock a grand off the RRP on the Golf R. :undecided:
Going to try Pulman VW @ Durham tomorrow and see what they say.
I actually ordered a new R yesterday [Price with my spec added £38,134], traded in my March 10 GTI with 7500 miles on clock [spec as per sig]. After a lengthy discussion and some bartering I ended up with £18,134 for the GTI, this is allowing for 6 months before delivery of the R, so actually I got the equivalent of around £19,500. No discount on the R though, but I was happy with the deal overall. It's not so much what you get for your car but what the deal costs you overall, yours is a bit older than mine and has more mileage, but £15K is taking the p***

The new R is a lovely car, Its the best car I've ever had for sure. I'm sure you'll love it regardless of how much you spent.
